Mr Yang has been committed to community services for many years. In addition to serving as the general manager of Lok Sin Tong, he also carried out a number of beneficial initiatives for the elderly and disadvantaged families in the district through the Shek Kip Mei Residents Association in 2014, which has aided 3,000 people in family units. In 2016, Mr. Yang resolutely resigned from his position as chairman of his listed company and devoted himself, full-time, to community service and uniting the textile industry. In recent years, he has focused on serving the Yau Tsim Mong District, including supporting sports activities in the district and assisting poor and ethnic minority families. In 2023, after Mr. Yang became the chairman of the Yau Tsim Mong District Fight Crime Committee, he spared no effort in promoting anti-crime, anti-fraud, and antidrug messaging in the district. Through cooperation with the police force, the “Anti Crime Monopoly” game was produced in early 2024 and gifted to all primary and secondary schools in Hong Kong through the Education Department, and the youth uniform groups of the Security Bureau, aiming to impart on the minds of the youth by a unified national image through safe, law-abiding rhetoric.
